Betafence Concertainer™ Gabion’s benefit from superior welding technology. The horizontal and vertical wires are electrically welded at each intersection to give maximum rigidity and strength.
Wire Diameters
A variety of wire diameters are available, 3mm and 4.55mm Galvanised or 2.70 and 3.80mm PVC coated.
Mesh and fill
The mesh configuration is nominally 75mm x 75mm and all gabions should be filled with a Frost resistant durable stone such as limestone or granite of block size 100-200mm.

Assembly details
Flatpack
Concertainer™ Gabions are delivered in flat pack format to the site. All the vertical edges are pre-joined using helicals. Helicals can also be used instead of lacing wire to close the lid and base. This increases the quality and speed of installation.
Extending to full length
Take Concertainer™ Gabion and extend it to its full length. The base and lid panels of our standard units have already been fastened on one side by us. There are enough helicals delivered with the basket to finish off the base.
Joining adjacent Gabions
Place the empty Gabions in position and join them by clasping the helicals together and sliding a locking pin through them.
Fitting internal cross bracing
So that the Gabions don’t bulge when being filled, they must be fitted with bracing ties. You will save a lot of time if you use prefabricated bracing ties. Bracing ties are used at third and two-thirds height positions, four ties per square metre of face.
After filling
After filling using the lacing wire provided secure all lid panels, and if there are additional courses, each course should be laced together horizontally both front and rear.
